Frank Arkley , 63, of Shawnee, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus. Born August 4, 1943, in Shawnee, the son of the late John and Margaret R. (Kopis) Arkley . He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Corning. He was a former employee of Nicofibers and the Perry County Engineers office. He was a devoted son, who cared for his parents. Survived by his wife, Janet Williams Arkley ; three sons, John (Kelli) Arkley and Andy Arkley of Shawnee, Jason Arkley of Hemlok; daughter, Karen (Richard) Jenkins; one grandson, Matthew David Jenkins of Patalaska; two step-grandchildren, Sarah and Kyle Yeater; two brothers, Jack Arkley of Hebron, Dave Arkley of Lancaster; two sisters, Mary Bond of Columbus and Linda (Deward) Watts of Amanda; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and George Owen of McCuneville; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Ken Bond and his wife's parents David and Pauline Williams. Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2006 at the J.E. HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME, 118 W. Walnut St., Shawnee. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 425 Adams St., Corning, with Father Jonathan Wilson Celebrant. Cremation will take place following services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 2, Shawnee, OH 43782.
