"DEATH OF ALBERT SAMPSON
Albert Sampson, who for more than thirty years has been engaged in superintending granite work in large buildings in Philadelphia, died yesterday morning at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. James G. Francis, near Berwyn, Chester county, Pa. Mr. Sampson was born in Braintree, Mass, in 1819 . He was lineally descended from Henry Sampson, who was one of the band of Pilgrims landing from the Mayflower in 1820. He was well known to builders and architects of this city and superintended the granite work on the Jayne building, Philadelphia Bank, First National Bank, Tradesmens Bank, Kensington Bank, Philadelphia Saving Fund, Rush Library, 'Record' Building. He leaves a widow and three daughters - one of whom is the wife of Mr. James G. Francis, of this city."
