Catherine Temple Tompkins "Kitty" Gwathmey Woolfolk was oneof the children born to Owen Gwathmey, Jr. and his wife Ann Rogers Clark.

Kitty and her family relocated to Louisville, Kentucky when she was a young child.

Kitty was united in marriage on November 25, 1817 in Louisville, Kentucky to George Woolfolk. Kitty and George were blessed with the birth of at least five children during their 26 year marriage:

Robert Owen Woolfolk
Dr. George William Woolfolk
Ann Clark Woolfolk
Elizabeth Woolfolk
Frances Jane "Fannie" Woolfolk Wallace

Kitty relocated to Paducah, Kentucky where her sons George and Robert and their families were residing after the death of George. Kitty passed away at the young age of 72, twenty-three years after her beloved husband. Kitty is interred with her husband, parents, some siblings, and her children.
