Eva Mae Leon Forbes Oakes
Mrs. Eva Mae Leon Forbes, born February 18, 1898, at Newtonia, Missouri, departed this life at her home in Joplin, Missouri, on November 11, 1970, at the age of 72 years, 8 months, and 24 days.

She was united in marriage to George Lester Oakes on July 10,1924. To this union was born 4 children who survive her: Mrs. Wyone Lindquist, Emery Oakes, and Dennis Oakes, all of Joplin, Missouri and Forrest Lee Oakes of Neosho, Missouri. Other survivors include her husband, George Lester Oakes, 4
brothers, 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Oakes was converted at an
early age and came into the light of the Apostolic Faith Movement 60 years ago. She walked in the light of the Faith all the remaining days of her life. Her home was always open to ministers and gospel workers and was a blessing to many people.

The last several years of her life she made the Original Apostolic Faith Church of Joplin, Mo., her home church and was faithful to her Lord to the end.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Onal Ntmn. Music was provided by Mrs. Connie Walker who sang "I Won't Have to Cross Jordon Alone", and a quartet, Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Moser, Rev. F. E.Waterbury, and Mr. Bill Forbes who sang "Hold the Fort" and "We'll Understand It Better Bye and Bye." Organist was Mrs. F. E. Waterbury.
