Carl E. Forbes, 92, Rocky Comfort, died at 10:35 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at Medicalodge in Neosho after an illness.

Mr. Forbes was born July 7, 1906, in Miami, Okla., to the late Francis and Julia Fisher Forbes. He moved to Rocky Comfort in November 1997 coming from Cowiche, Wash. He was of the Full Gospel faith.

He married Pearl Evelyn Carter on April 8, 1934, at Stella. She survives.

Additional survivors include three sons, Jerry Forbes, Tieton, Wash., Rex Forbes, Rocky Comfort, and Alvis Forbes, Jackson, Wyo., eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Marshall, in 1940, five sisters and seven brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson. The Rev. Frank Arnall will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery at Stella.

Pallbearers will be Dennie Oakes, Lee Oakes, Emery Oakes, Bill Forbes, Al Forbes and Vernon Lindquist. Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Carter, Charles Carter, Jimmy Carter, Clero Carter, Glen Wylie and Edward Forbes.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Ozark Funeral Home form 12 noon until 8 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
