Adam was the youngest child born to George & Margaret Fluckey. He was born in Pennsylvania, but the family moved to Ohio when he was just a young boy. He married Mary (Polly) Sellars, daughter of Isaac & Nancy (Pauley) Sellars, on 15 November 1827 in Perry Co, Ohio. Seven children were born to the couple: Isaac, George Washington, Margaret (Meg), Sarah Elizabeth (Sally), Mary Jane, Joseph Sellars, and Martha Emma (Mattie). Adam & Mary lived most of their lives in Marion/Morrow Counties Ohio. They are both buried in Bethel Cemetery, Morrow, Ohio.
