Actor, Producer. He was most noted for his participation in George A. Romero's "Night of the Living Dead" (1968) as a co-producer, and for his portrayal of 'Harry Cooper.' He also worked as the film's make-up artist, and created the electronic sound effects. Even before his role in "Night of the Living Dead," he was an institution in Pittsburgh for his longtime work on the early morning, highly-rated Cordic and Company radio show hosted by Rege Cordic, first at WWSW, then at KDKA. The show ran from 1954 to 1965 featuring Cordic hosting a very early version of the "morning madness" style of radio programming. He was a writer and cast member along with Bob Trow and Sterling Yates. Hardman's voice contributions included the characters of Louie the Garbageman, Periwinkle, Colonel Cornpone, Roquefort Q. LaFarge, Nudnicron, and Mr. Murchison. Hardman continued his collaboration and friendship with Cordic after the host moved to Los Angeles in 1965. In 1963, Hardman moved his own recording studio from its original location in his home to its new location in downtown Pittsburgh.
