Helen V. Blizzard, 84, of Middlebourne, Gorrells Run Road, departed this life Thursday, February 19, 2009 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. She was born March 14, 1924 in Wetzel County a daughter of the late Ira Elwood and Olive Mae Long Ruble.
Helen worked for many years cleaning houses. She was a member of the Gorrells Run Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Blizzard in 1987. Three brothers; William, Henry and Charles Ruble.
Helen is survived by her son Roger D. Blizzard and his wife Darlene , and her daughter Ruth E. Spencer and her husband Clayton all of Middlebourne. Two brothers; Ira Ruble, Alma and Lloyd Elwood Ruble, Alliance, OH. Four sisters; Ida Louise Murner, Pleasant Ridge, Eileen Reed, Alliance, OH, Wilma Yost, Middlebourne and Jo Ann Murner, Paden City. Four grandchildren; Lora Yeater, Alma, Roger Allen Blizzard, New Martinsville and Charles Spencer, Davenport and Christy Kile, Middlebourne. Six great grandchildren; Kylee and Brock Yeater, Tyler and Cheyenne Blizzard and Ariana and Colin Kile.
Friends will be received at the Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne Sunday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm where services will be held Monday 1:00 pm with Evangelists Homer Matthews and Niles Hissom officiating. Interment Jemmison Cemetery, Gorrells Run.
