He was born in Clinton County, NY. As a small boy he came with his parents to Genoa, Wisc. Living there till 1866 when the family came to Arkansaw, in the town of Waterville.
He was united in marraige with Lucy Earl May 20th, 1869, in Mc. Henry Ill. She passed away in 1877. Later he married again and had four children.
He owned and worked at a saw mill until shortly before his passing. He was of a rugged type of which Pioneers are made of.
