DEATH OF AN OLD RESIDENT
This week we are called upon to chronicle the death of our oldest resident, Mrs. Theresia Adolf, which occurred at the home of her son, Mr. Simon Adolf, on West Main Street, Monday noon. She had been sick about a week, the cause of her death being apoplexy. Mrs. Adolf was born in Alsace, Germany in Feb. 1793, and was therefore 97 years and 9 months old at the time of her death. She came to this country in 1845 and has lived in this place ever since. She leaves four children, Simon and Joseph, Mrs. Charles Scheffler and Miss Caroline Adolf, all of this village. The funeral was held at St. Mary's Church yesterday morning.
