Burial: St. Martin MN
On Saturday evening here, Mr. Peter Rausch, one of the first and oldest settlers in this area was called back to his Father. The deceased, who reached the age of 79 years, died at his son Joseph's home under whose care he was during the last several years. Because of his many good qualities the deceased was held in high esteem, not only here but in all Stearns County. The same esteem was shown at his burial when he was interned Tuesday A.m. at a very solemn ceremony. Many people from far and near came to give the last rites and to unify themselves with the priest in prayers for the deceased.
To the deceased we wish Eternal Peace and to the four children, Joseph, Christ P. Rausch from this area, Frau Rose Egerman from Farming, Frau Elizabeth Schlener from Torah [now Richmond] to the brother Balthazar who lives in St. Martin, we offer our condolences.

ST. MARTIN, April 13, 1903 – Last Saturday Peter Rausch, one of the oldest settlers of this town, died at the ripe old age of 74 years, at the home of his son Joseph. The funeral will be on Tuesday morning at 9:30 and no doubt will be a large one, as the deceased was well liked by all who knew him.

Died at St. Martin – Word was received in the city yesterday of the death Sunday morning at St. Martin, of Peter Rausch, an old and prominent farmer of that town. Mr. Rausch had been sick for some weeks and two months ago it had been felt that he was on his death bed. He rallied, however, only to finally succumb Sunday. John and Joseph Kindler of this city are grandsons of the deceased. His wife died some years ago but there are several sons and daughters living in the interior of the county. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Martin. The grandsons will attend the funeral.
