William Hatcher(1762–1815)
Edy Austin (1764-1830)
In a will dated 1814, William Hatcher from South Carolina bequeaths $1 to his eldest son John, commonly indicating he had already received his share of the inheritance. Some believe that William's oldest son John stayed in South Carolina.
John and Ritta Ann [Henrietta?] Hatcher settled in Big Richland Creek Tennessee, moving from South Carolina [by covered wagon] between 1817 and 1819, contrary to family lore of a date between 1810 and 1814. Their first three children, William Fulton, Rebecca, and Martha Elizabeth were born in South Carolina, 1812, 1815, and 1817. The rest of the children, starting with John Landon, born in 1819, were born in Tennessee.
