Mrs Pater was a cousin of my grampa Leo (Leon Pinkos). She lived in Cicero most of her life. She was a very interesting woman, she grew a lot of her own food in the yard and made herbal remedies. She had two sons, Walter and Anton. Walter was shell shocked in WWII and she cared for him until he passed away. She had a very strong constitution, she had appendisitis when she was in her 70's and fell down the basement stairs breaking her hip when she was older yet. She lived alone and laid there for perhaps a day. The doctors said she would probably mot make it, but she did and was able to walk again.
