Death of Mr Charles Martin aged 76 took place at his late residence of Vauxhall where he and his wife have resided for the last two years. Mr. Martin came here about 2 years ago from Kindersley, Sask. where he was engaged in farming. He has been in retirement since coming here as the result of paralysis but he was always pleased to have his neighbours call and talk to him. Two sons stayed with their parents, Edward and Gilbert, and Alvo Martin, proprietor of the Ford Garage. Another son resides in town. The other songs and daughters are scattered, Harvey and Elizabeth (F. Anthony) in Oawego, N.Y. Wesley in Kindersley, Sask, William in Vernacher Ont. Ethel (Bennet) in Winnipeg, Gertrude and Mrs. Hitner and Alfred Martin (grandson ) in California.
There was a very large attendance at the funeral on Christmas morning. Rev. T.A. Bowen conducted the services at the house and grave side. Internment took place at Retlaw Cemetery. The neighbors and friends of the town were exceedlingly kind and helpful in helping and watching by the bed side for the last week and in sending in some very fine flowers at the funeral. Sincere Sympaty to the widow and family.
