Many Pay Tribute To Late M. Vogel (From Our Own Correspondent) VAUXHALL — Funeral services for the late Max Vogel, an oldtimer of the Vauxhall district, were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, from the Vauxhall community hall, with Rev. A. J. Bowden officiating. There was a goodly attendance of friends and neighbors, and many relatives were present from distant points.
Internment was In the Vauxhall cemetery funeral.
He was born 4 June 1874, in Halle, the province of Saxony, Germany. He came to Lethbridge in 1905 he where he worked a t his trade of bricklayer for a number of years. Among other things he built the large chimney at The Lethbridge brewery.
Later, he and his family homesteaded in the Retlaw district where the youngest son was born.
Mr. and Mrs. Vogel had five children.
One daughter died in infancy. The others are Otto in Moose Jaw.,Mrs. John Palsky of Lethbridge, Mrs. Browne of Vauxhall and Sergeant Walter, who has been with the Canadian army in Italy and now in Germany. Walter, is in the occupation forces overseas, and was unable to be present at his father's funeral.
