Erlene Ida Irwin, 84, of Rochester and Talma area, and most recently of Hickory Creek of Rochester, died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Hickory Creek of Rochester.
She was born June 12, 1927, in Washington Island, Wis., to Chris and Edna (Tortenson) Demmin.
On June 23, 1945, in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., she married Dale Irwin who preceded April 23, 2006.
Erlene was a homemaker and had worked at Rochester Telephone Company and United Telephone Company of Plymouth and Warsaw.
She attended Riverview Community Church of Rochester and in more recent years the United Pentecostal Church of Bourbon. She loved to bake, garden, and flea market as well as spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Kubley and companion Mitchell Bolen, Rochester, and Nancy and husband Bill Murphy, New Bedford, Mass.; three sons, Donald and wife Shirley Irwin, Rochester, Richard and wife Libby Irwin, Etna Green, and Keith and wife Janet Irwin, Peru; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jocelyn Vertz, Kansas City, Kan., Joanell Otis, Sturgeon Bay, Wis., and Kerrin Rae, Menasha, Wis.; and a brother, Chris Demmin, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.
She was preceded in death by three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St. Mentone, with Pastor Mark Cottrill officiating.
Visitation is from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at King Memorial Home.
Burial is at Richland Center Cemetery, Rochester.
