Joseph Taylor, foreman in R. P. Waldron's logging camp, on the Wishkah river, and one of the best known and most highly esteemed loggers on the Harbor, met with a fatal accident at the dam in the river near McCloskey's camp last Sunday. Mr. Taylor had a crew of men repairing the gates of the dam, and was himself engaged in placing a timber in the bottom of a gateway when the heavy gate fell, striking him across the chest, and crushed the life out of him. Mr. Taylor was about -35 years of age and lived at Hoquiam with his wife, who has the sympathy of the entire Harbor in her bereavement. The funeral took place Tuesday, services being held at the Baptist church, Hoquiam, and was conducted under the auspices of the Odd Fellows of which order the deceased was a prominent member. Quite a number of his Aberdeen friends attended the funeral.
