The tragedy of the death of little
Gordon Johnson touched the heartstrings
of everyone. On the evening
of August 3, the eleven year old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Telman Johnson
fell off his parents tractor and was
crushed about the head under the
hind wheel. He was rushed to Taber
Hospital where he was pronounced
dead. Besides his parents he is mourn ed by one brother Dean and one sister Valerie. The deeply impressive and
beautiful service held Sat August to
honor the dear little fellow’s memory was led by Rev. Carl Fosmark, brother of the parents’ pastor who was absent. Mrs. L. W. Fosmark accompanied the special numbers offered
at the meeting. No congregational hymns were sung. A male trio. Rev. Harry Ödland, Rev. Carl Fosmark and Jack MacDonald of Seattle, sang “Wnat A Friend Wo Have In
Jesus’ Several scripture passages bearing on the age of the deceased that were applicable to the occasion wore chosen to be read by Rev. Ödland Rev. A. Hanson of Bcw Island led in prayer. Mr. Fosmark called for a duet from Miss Tyre and Miss Torryman who had completed, a week before, the Vocational Bible School which their little friend had faithfully attended for two weeks. After this deeply sympathetic and helpful address; by Mr. Fosmark, Mr. Ödland read the obituary and two very appropriate poems. Mrs.Harry Ruggles (nee Marion Johnson) and Miss Helen Conner sang 'With the Pilot's Hand On Mine.” The lengthy procession
followed the mourners to Vaux hall cemetery.
