Ronald Lynn "Red" Gaddis, 76, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 5, 2012.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with the Rev. Corky Holland, senior adult minister at First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Stinnett Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Gaddis was born Sept. 11, 1935, in Ringling, Okla., to George and Belva Turner. He served his country in the Army stationed in Korea. He worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1999. He married Carolyn Vernon in 1957. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Stinnett.
Ronnie enjoyed spending time with his wife at their cabin in Cuchara, Colo., where he would relax and drink coffee on his deck. "Redpa" also followed his grandchildren to their sport activities. They were his pride and joy.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Gaddis of Amarillo; a daughter, Tammy Yenzer and husband Craig of Midland; a son, Mike Gaddis and wife Karin of Amarillo; two sisters, Pauline Patty of Oklahoma City and Patsy Lively and husband Marvin of Sherman; a brother, G.T. Gaddis of Odessa; three grandsons, Tyler Yenzer and wife Amy, Clay Yenzer and wife Meghan and Jared Gaddis; a granddaughter, Hannah Gaddis; and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace Yenzer.
