VAUXHALL —John
(Jack) Lind. 72, oldtimer of the
district since homesteading in New
West in 1908, passed away suddenly
in Taber Hospital on Tuesday."
Sept. 18. He was born in |
Sweden, and as a young man came j
to Canada, working on the rail- '
road for a time.
In 1919-1920 he worked for the
Canada Land Company at Travers.
He had been living in Vauxhall
since 1927. His health had
been poor since he suffered a serious
accident several years ago.
Besides his widow he is survived
by one son, FO Johnny Lind
of the RCAF stationed at North
Bay, Ont., also a stepson, Norman
Johnson of Vauxhall. Funeral
services were held in the Vauxhall
Evangelical Free Church on
Thursday afternoon, Sept. 20 with
Rev. Emil Axene pastor, assisted
by Rev. V. Beck, officiating.
Pallbearers were Jack Horton,
Ott Dell, Elmer Johnson, Harry
Whipple, Howard Connor and
'•Boots" Conner. Humphries of
Taber were in charge of funeral
arrangements, and interment was
in Vauxhall cemetery.
