with Rev. E. Axene officiating
Interment was in the Vauxhal
cemetery, burial arrangements
being completed by Humphries
Funeral Home of Taber.
Pallbearers were Peter Bergen
Brian Lamond, Carl Johnson
Frank Gow, John Neufeldt am
Elmer Johnson.
Mr. Johnson passed away In
the Calgary General Hospital on
Tuesday at the age of 85. He was
born at Christiansen, Norway, on
August 27. 1875 and was married
there.
He emigrated to America In
1905, settling on a homestead in
North Dakota where he farmed
until moving to the Enchant dis
trict in 1928. He retired from the
farm in 1954 and moved in to
Vauxhall to reside with a daugh
ter there.
Mr. Johnson was an a c t i v e
member of the Evangelical Free
Church in Vauxhall, being a mem
ber of the first board of the
church.
iurvivors include seven sons:
John of Bassano, Albert, Severln
Engvald, Melvin, Thelma and
Gordon all of Vauxhall, a daughter,
Mrs. William Lamond, also
of Vauxhall, 13 grandchildren and
one great grandchild.
