Bert Bosgraaf, age 91, of Hudsonville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Gladys (Kamps); children, Sandy Phillips of Florida (Brad and Rose Nyenhuis, Shelly and Paul Schmelter, Chris Nyenhuis), Edie and Bob Van Sprange of Hudsonville (Jill and Matt De Jong, Joe and Jaime Van Sprange, Kate Van Sprange and special friend Mel Kotlyar), Tom Bosgraaf of Hudsonville and special friend Ginger Lange and her daughter Stacey; great grandchildren who he took great delight in, Niko, Jake, Zachary, Amanda, Kate, Lucas, Josiah, Riley, Liana, Mila, and Joshua; brother, Ralph Bosgraaf and friend Maxine Knox; sisters, Bertha Brink, Tressa and Howard Brouwer, Edna and Burt Pyle; sister-in-law Ruth Bosgraaf; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ben Bosgraaf, Harm and Mina Bosgraaf, John and Jessie Bosgraaf; sister, Sadie and Al Blauwkamp; sister-in-law, Rose Bosgraaf; brother-in-law, Jay Brink. Bert was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an encourager, always ready to reach out a hand to those in need and a friend to all he met. His quick wit and sense of humor made him a joy to be around and he will be sorely missed. He loved the Lord and lived a life of integrity, always "going the extra mile." Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Robert Huisman officiating. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family at the VanderLaan Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at church.
