Daughter of Jose Garwood Inskeep and Margaret Jane Hewlings. Married to Joseph W. Ballinger on 07 Apr 1876 or 04 Jul 1876 in Logan Co, OH.

The Emporia Democrat, Wednesday, April 11, 1888

Died.

On Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock, of quick consumption, Mrs. Lilly Ballinger, wife of J.W. Ballinger, of this city, in the 28th year of her age. She was a native of Ohio, her maiden name being Inskeep, and was married to J.W. Ballinger on July 4th, 1876, and two years later came west with her husband and located in this county. She had a very amiable disposition, was a loving wife and fond mother, and was unanimously esteemed by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She was the very picture of health until a few months ago, when that dread disease consumption secured a hold on her and continued its ravages till death brought relief. She was a consistent member of the Quaker church, and will be a full sharer in whatever of happiness is in store "across death's dark river' for the truly good and righteous of this earth. Her husband is a passenger conductor on the Santa Fe, and will have the sympathy not only of all the employes (sic) of this company who know him, but of the entire community. She leaves a daughter 10 years old, who, with the bereaved husband, will mourn the irreparable loss of a fond mother and loving wife. The funeral service were held at the family residence at 520 Rural street, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock after which her remains were laid to rest in Maplewood cemetery.
