James W. Fitzgerald, 52, husband of Helen F. L. (Reilly) Fitzgerald, 10 Center Street, Raynham, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon in Morton Hospital following a one day illness. Born in Somerset, son of the late Edmund and Mary (Martin) Fitzgerald, he was educate din the Somerset elementary and high schools, and was an engineer on the New Haven Railroad for 30 years. He resided in Raynham for the last 17 years and formerly was a resident of Taunton. A communicant of St. Mary's Church, he also was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Raynham Center Grange. In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, James W. and Robert F. Fitzgerald, both of Raynham, and one daughter Miss Helen Louise Fitzgerald of Raynham. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Jane Morrissey, Taunton, Miss Ann C. Fitzgerald, Somerset, Mrs. Mary A. Leonard, Pawtucket, RI, Mrs. Helen Lee, Somerset Center; three brothers, Edmund J. Fitzgerald, Taunton, Daniel M. Fitzgerald, Fall River, and Frank Fitzgerald, Providence.
