[From the Le Roy Gazette.]

SHOCKING OCCURRENCE. — The family of Mr. John Thwing, Jr. of this town, consisting of himself, wife, father, mother, six children and hired man, are all, (with the exception of a son 16 years of age, who died last Thursday,) lying dangerously ill from taking poison, accidentally commingled with flour, from which a batch of bread was made and eaten by the family.

Mr. Thwing is one of the early settlers of this town, who, by close application to business, has become one of our most wealthy farmers and arrived to situation as to property which enabled him to abandon constant toil, and pleasantly enjoy the fruit of his labors. He has of late erected a very neat convenient dwelling house, in the painting of which white lead was used and it is supposed that the white lead remaining in a box in a limber room of the house, was conveyed by small children to the flour, hence the cause of this most distressing disaster.
