Lamar M. Carter, 74, of Doraville, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at home with his loving wife and family. Born in Hazelhurst, he was the son of the late Corbett C. Carter and the late Eva Spann Carter.
A 1959 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Mr. Carter enjoyed a successful career as a mechanical engineer. He retired as President of Tolson, Simpson, & Associates in 2008.
Survivors include his devoted wife of over 53 years,two sons and daughter-in-laws, daughter, grandson and his wife, sister and brother-in-law.
Funeral was conducted Wednesday, June 13th, at 3:00 p.m., at Northwoods United Methodist Church, 2635 Fairlane Drive, Doraville, GA 30340. The family received friends Tuesday, June 12th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home.
