Mary graduated from Binger High School before attending Southwestern Oklahoma Teacher's College and later graduated from Central Oklahoma Teacher's College. She began her teaching career at Rankin and went on to Durham and Reydon before teaching at Binger. She returned to Reydon where she remained in Reydon until 1962, when they moved west of Sayre to make their home.
She was a member of the Sayre United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister, and 1 brother.
She is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law Robert and Cindy Purvis, of Oklahoma City, OK, 1 sister, Roberts of California, 5 brothers, Walter Klingman and Robert Klingman, both of California, John Klingman, of Illinois, and Harry Klingman and Charles Klingman, both of Binger, OK, 3 grandchildren, Stacie, Brian, and Emily. A host of relatives and friends.
Services were December 22, 1994 at the Rose chapel officiated by Elbert Shumaker. Interment will be in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
