Clairus Woodrow Harvey, 80, of Clayton, died 2:50 p.m. Tues. June 10, 1997, in a Hinton hospital following a long illness.

Born Sept. 19, 1916, at Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Mike I. and Jane Harvey.

Mr. Harvey was a member of the Clayton Baptist Church, was a retired yard conductor for the C&O Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Anderson Harvey; his second wife, Nancy Graham Harvey; two daughters, two sisters; a half-brother; and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include three sons, Mike Harvey and his wife, Becky, and Pat and Cindy Harvey, all of Richmond, Va. and Jerry Ray Harvey of Hungarts Creek Road; six daughters, Rebecca Ann Reynolds of Bellevue, Ohio, Anna Mae Goad of Bellevue, Ohio, Drema Kay Bostic of White Sulphur Springs, Hazel Marie Meador of Forest Hill, Linda Jane Lilly of Hinton, and Marsha Sue Basham of Jumping Branch; a brother, Youell Harvey of Florida; four sisters, Faye Workman of Florida, Irene Keffer of Hinton, Cassie Murphy of Rocky Gap, VA. and Zelma Martin of Lewisburg; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Fri. June 13th at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Elmo Alderman and Eddie Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Harvey Family Cemetery on Madams Creek.
