Dorothy Coleman Thompson

She was 93, the daughter of the late Robert Henry Coleman and the former Tomitrius Wydell, was a native of McClain, Miss., and a former resident of Jennings for 20 years. She had been a resident of Lafayette for 44 years.

She was a loving and gentle person whose easygoing personality endeared her to family and loved ones. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed people and was happiest visiting her children and grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include three daughters, Jean Thompson Reed and husband John of Jennings, Martha Thompson Landry and husband Jim of Lafayette and Arletta Thompson Babineaux and husband Larry of Sunset; a son, Herbert W. Thompson and wife T.C. of Lafayette; a sister, Noella C. Caldwell of Shreveport; grandchildren, Debbie Medus, Kenneth Reed, Pam Guinn, Rhonda Self, Jay Landry, Wayne Reed, Lynette Zaunbrecher, Cole Thompson, Wayne Thompson, Becky Lowe, Sarah Walker, Rhona Brasseaux and Donna Hebert; 27 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, D. Wayne Thompson.
