During the flight the ailerons failed to resound to the pilots controls and Fl/Lt. Jones gave the order to bale out of the aircraft.
Sadly at 16.20hrs. the Hamden I dived into the ground. No details if the two killed were still in the aircraft or that they had baled out and killed in the descent.
It is thought that the pilot Fl/Lt. B.P. Jones survived the war.
