Mildred P. Hysell, 80, of Cannon Falls died Wednesday evening, Dec. 21, 1983, at the Cannon Falls Community Hospital. She was a former resident of this area. She was born June 5, 1903, in Glen Flora, Wis., the daughter of John and Mathilda Wolander. She grew up in the Cannon Falls area and graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1921. She later attended the Eitel School of Nursing in Minneapolis. She married Leslie Hysell in April of 1923 in Minneapolis. The couple settled in Dennison. Later they lived in Farmington and Long Prairie and for the past seven years, Cannon Falls. Mrs. Hysell is survived by her husband; one son, Robert of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Joyce Stier (Mrs. Delmer) of North Mankato; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Munson (Mrs. Martin) of Red Wing. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Maylon Curry; four brothers, Carl, Hader, Hjalmer and Willard Wolander; three sisters, Hildur Burdick, Dagne Boelder and Edythe Scofield. The funeral service was Saturday, Dec. 24, at St. Ansgars Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls, where the deceased was confirmed and where she had now been active in the LCW. Burial was in the Cannon Falls Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Scofield, Lute Carlson, Merle Wahlberg, Allen Curry, Delmer Stier and Niles Hysell.
