Archie Bell, 87 of Toledo, OH, died Saturday, September 23, 2000, at Flower Hospital after a long illness. Archie graduated from Woodward High School. After graduation, Archie attended Macomber Vocational High School where he was trained as a transmission specialist. In the 1940's, Archie worked for the Rossford Ordnance Depot as a gun tester. Later in 1941, Archie worked for the Dana Corporation as a set up man where he later retired after 33 years of service. During his years of service with The Dana Corporation, Archie was also employed with Miller Vogue and Peggy Ann Dress Shops. He also worked for the Toledo Public Schools Breakfast Program. Archie was a faithful member of St. Martin's DePorres Catholic Church until his illness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Torey and Mollie Bell; brother, Henry; sons, Archie Jr., Julius, Michael, and Miles. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Marion; sons, Victor (Floydia), and Warren; daughters, Doris (Coley), Mary Coleman, Dawn (Donald) Cordland, Corliss (Isaiah Jr.) Townsend, Rosalyn (Larry) O'Neal; adopted daughters, Jenny Dunlap and Faith Hanson. Archie had 31 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and kind friends; special granddaughter, Veronica Bell.
