John Thielges, one of our old much esteemed German residents, died at his home on Franklin street last Friday of stomach trouble, after an illness of some months, his age being 64 years. He was born in Germany and came here when 19 years old, was married in St. Pius church, Cohocton, thirty-four years ago, and had lived here twenty-three years. He leaves a widow and eight children, Mrs. J. Kuhn of Wayland, Mrs. J. Schultz of Cohocton, John, Rosa, Casper, Lizzie, Fred, and Raymond Thielges. The funeral was held from St. Mary's church on Monday, Rev. M. Krischel officiating.
The following persons from out of town attended the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thielges of Avoca, Mr. and Mrs. Markus Deitsche, of Arnot, Pa., Casper and Andrew Shults of Bristol Springs; Mrs. Geo. Fox, Mrs. Wm. Kuhn, Anthony Kuhn and Nic Kuhn, of Wayland.
