The Rev. W. C. Hilpert officiated at funeral services Monday afternoon at the First St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, State Avenue, for Albert Hargefeld, 86, 448 West Bridge Street, who died Friday afternoon at the Owatonna City Hospital.
Internment was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery and the Conley Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hargefeld was born September 8, 1866 in Aurora Township. He married Anna Kruckeberg who was also a native of Aurora and they farmed until 1925 when they retired and moved to Owatonna.
Mr. Hargefeld was very active in church affairs, serving on the board for many years as well as serving on the township board, school board, and creamery boardfor many years while still on the farm.
Surviving are two sons, Herman and William and six daughters, Mrs. George (Martha) Behne, Mrs. Albert (Pauline) Grunklee, Mrs. Herbert (Elsie) Semmann, Mrs. Ernest (Edna) Grunklee and Mrs. Louie (Ann) Schmidt, all of the Owatonna vicinity and Mrs. Willis (Myrtle) Borning of Echo, Minnesota.
Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
