LAMOND, at the age of 78 years,
beloved husband of Mrs. Agnes
Lamond of OT - 85 Foxbend Crescent
North, Lethbridge, Alberta.
John Lamond was born in Fort
William, Ontario on May 29lh, 1910
while his parents were enroule from
Scotland to Medicine Hat. He
received his schooling in Medicine
Hat, then spent some time working in
the Pottery there. At age 13 he moved
to Vauxhall to run his parents farm.
In 1934 he married Agnes McNiven
and together they purchased land in
the Grantham and New West areas
and farmed there until 1947, when he
sold the land, and moved into the
town of.Vauxhall. He spent one year
as a salesman for the J. R. Watkins
Co., then for the next five years was a
mechanic in Martin's Garage until
the garage closed. In 1956 John began
working for Ihe Taber School Division
and remained there until his retirement
in 1975. In May of 1986 he sold
his home in Vauxhall and moved to
Lethbridge, residing there until his
passing, Monday, March 20lh, 1939.
Besides his loving wife, Agnes,
John is survived by four sons, David
(Marlene) of Fort McMurray, Brian
(Janet) of Lethbridge, Donald of
Edmonton, and Bruce (Darlene) of
Lethbridge; one sister, Jean Johnson
of Vauxhall; nine grandchildren; four
great-granddaughters; numerous
nieces and nephews; and many
friends.,
John was predeceased by his parents,
George and Annie Lamond; an
infant son, Gerald Thomas; and a
brother, William. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 23,1989 in Ihe Vauxhall Mennonite
Brethren Church with Reverend Vern Beck officiating. Interment will follow in the Vauxhall Cemetery.
