He married Freidrick Lottie Wilhelmina "Minnie" Beimeier on April 6, 1892, in Pearl City, Stephenson County, Illinois. Minnie was born September 13, 1864, in Germany. They had the following known children:
1. Winifred L. (Rosenstiel) Penticoff (1893-1931)
2. Earl Clinton Rosenstiel (1895-1954)
Minnie died March 27, 1913, in Kent, Stephenson County, Illinois. George died August 30, 1927, in Freeport, Stephen County, Illinois. Following is a transcription of his obituary from the September 8, 1927 edition of Freeport Journal-Standard. Note his birth date is incorrect in the obituary:
George Rosenstiel
Kent, Ill., September 7, -- George Rosenstiel was born at Damascus, Ill., June 10, 1852, and passed away at his home in Kent township, Aug. 30, 1927, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 20 days.
He was the son of John and Mary Rosenstiel, pioneer settlers of Stephenson county. He was united in marriage to Wilhelmina Wemeier, April 6, 1892, who preceded him in death 14 years ago, March 27, 1913.
He leaves to mourn his loss two children, Mrs. Rollen Penticoff, living on the home farm, and Earl C. Rosenstiel, residing in Freeport, also five grandchildren, besides one sister and three brothers; Mrs. Geo. Collins of Jefferson township, William of Erin township, Frank of Harlem township, Edward of New Hampshire, and a host of friends.
He was converted during the year 1913 and joined the United Brethren church at Kent, Ill., under the pastorate of Rev. Theron O. Lewis and remained a faithful member until his death.
The funeral services was held in the Brethren church by his pastor.
