Russell Jurgens, 73, of the Tri-Cities, died Monday, June 14, 2004.

He was born in Oklahoma and moved with his family at a young age to the Kittitas Valley. He was a truck driver and a logger before working as an insurance agent, first for Allstate Insurance and then for the A.B. Offer agency, which he purchased. He operated his own agency for many years. After retiring, he relocated to Peshastin, where he lived for several years before moving to the Tri-Cities.

Survivors include his children, Dale Jurgens, Gail Brown, Joni Leninger, and Karen Skellenger; a brother, Lawrence Jurgens; and three sisters, Martha Larson, Norma Berdan, and Frances Bosler.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Thorp Cemetery, with a gathering to follow at 1011 Hanson Road in Ellensburg.
