Thomas Ridenour
Scottdale

Thomas Ridenour Jr., 81, of Scottdale, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at Frick Hospital in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Ridenour was born May 31, 1920, in Mendon, Pa., a son of the late Thomas and Anna Gail Smith Ridenour. He served in the Army during World War II, in the infantry. He recently retired from Kmart in Mt. Pleasant and had worked for the Southmoreland School District. Mr. Ridenour was a member of Pennsville Baptist Church and American Legion Post 446. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 60 years, Eva Nelle Pletcher Ridenour; daughter, Kathy Smith and her husband, Edward, of Connellsville; grandchildren, Michael Siwula, Matthew Siwula, Kristin Hixson and Dina Norris; five great-grandchildren; and his brothers, J. Gilbert Ridenour of Ruffsdale and Charles Donald Ridenour of Scottdale. In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by a son, Thomas B. Ridenour, in January of 1980; and a daughter, Joanne Ruth Ridenour, in 1942. Friends may call Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the CARUSO MEMORIAL HOME, 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the memorial home with Dr. Terry V. Murray and the Rev. Robert Bixel co-officiating. Interment will follow in Barren Run Cemetery with full military rites accorded by American Legion Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant.
