Catherine Kitchings Metz - Mrs. Metz, age 87, died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Lincoln Nursing Center. Born April 7, 1921, in Wagener, SC, she was a daughter of the late Holly and Opal McLane Kitchings. She was a graduate of Salley High School in Salley, SC, a member of Salem United Methodist Church, retired from Burlington Industries and during the 1970's she and her husband, Bruce, ran a pet shop, Metz Petz in Charlotte, NC.

Memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 1 at Salem United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the services.

Survivors are her daughter, Miriam Robinette and son-in-law, Jim Robinette, granddaughter, Tina Robinette and great granddaughters, Amara Giles-Robinette and Taryn Giles-Robinette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Metz, six brothers and two sisters. Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 378 N. Pilot Knob Road, Denver, NC 28037. Arrangements by Raymer Funeral home, Huntersville, NC.
