Lottie Johnson was born at Platte, SD, September 16, 1903, the daughter of John S and Bertha Johnson.

Miss Johnson attended school at Platte.

On August 24, 1923, she was united in marriage to Fred Murray of Mitchell.

To this union, 12 children were born: Richard A, Marvin Paul, and Albert Lee, all of Mitchell; Mrs. John Miller, Mrs. Adrian Wesdorp, and Mrs. Dale Foster, all of Sioux Falls; Fred Murray, Jr, Denver; Mrs. Virgil Mikkelsen, Pierre; Daniel Murray, Aberdeen; Aaron Lyle of Redfield; Gerald J with the armed forces In South Carolina; and Merle Murray, Rapid City.

Survivors include her widower and the children listed above, two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Miestad, Mitchell; and Mrs. V. P Lewis, Westminister, Calif; one brother, Fred Johnson, Mitchell; 27 grandchildren.

Mrs. Murray died October 9, 1960 in Mitchell after a lingering illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Murray were held October 12, 1960, at the Faith Home Chapel with the Rev. Lyle Howard officiating. Music was by Virgil Mikkelson and Mr. Howard accompanied by Wilma Pierson.

Pallbearers were William Wilkerson, N. Ebbesen, Donald Hall, Robert Hall, Frank Doty and Ralph Bennett.

Burial was in the American Legion plot of Graceland Cemetery with H. Noble and Son Funeral Home in charge.
