Beatrice Utterback Snyder, daughter of Charles and Ora Kleyensteuber Utterback, was born September 18, 1911, at Quincy, Ill., and died June 3, 1992, at Republic County Long Term Care in Belleville, at the age of 80 years, eight months and 15 days.

At an early age, she and her family moved to Kansas where her father was employed by the telephone company. She graduated from Belleville High School and took special work in piano pedagogy and organ under Prof. H. Huber at Kansas Wesleyan and Prof. Johnson of Lindsborg. She was a member of the Kansas State Music Teachers Association, Piano and Organ National Association and National Guild of Piano Teachers. She had also judged for 4-H Club Day.

She was united in marriage to Guy Charles Snyder, May 9, 1931, and to this union one son was born.

She worked with music in various departments of the Methodist church of which she was a member, serving as pianist, organist and choir director. She had served as president of the Wesleyan Service Guild, now called Susannah Circle. She was past matron of Eastern Star Ophel Chapter, No. 115, past mother advisor of Rainbow Girls, and received the Grand Cross of Color for service to that organization. She was past president of Beta Delphian Study Club and WRNCW Study Club, now disbanded.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dr. Charles Utterback.

She is survived by her husband, Guy C. Snyder of Belleville; son, Marvin of Northglenn, Colo.; three grandchildren, John, David and Judy; one step-grandchild, Dan Kuhlmann; six great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 6, at the First United Methodist Church of Belleville, conducted by Rev. Roy Braxton, Interment was in Belleville Cemetery.
