Alfred H. Barry died at Rocky Knoll Sanatorium, Plymouth, Monday morning, after a lingering illness.
He was born in the town of Chilton June 30, 1889, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Barry, late of the city of Chilton. He attended the parochial school of this city and after graduation was employed as clerk in a general store for four years and then learned the harness trade and was conducting a harness shop of his own on W. Main Street at the time he was taken ill.

He was active in promoting the interests of the Calumet County Fair association, particularly the horse racing program. At various times he owned and trained many of the best horses appearing on the tracks in the vicinity. He was a member of St. Augustine church and of the Chilton Court Catholic Order of Foresters.

He is survived by two sisters, Miss Beatrice Barry, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Dell Hart of Chicago; and four brothers, James of Sheboygan; Thomas J. and Gerrit F., of Milwaukee and Donald B., Columbus, Ohio.

Mr. Barry’s body was taken to the Robert H. Kroos Funeral Home in Sheboygan and later brought to the Pfeffer Funeral Home in this city. The funeral was held Wednesday morning from the funeral home to St. Augustine church where the requiem high mass and funeral services were held. Burial was made in the family lot in St. Augustine cemetery. Rev. Ralph D. Goggins, Chicago, a cousin of the deceased officiated.
