Charles Rhoda, 67 employed in the physical department at Purdue university died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday morning at 4 o'clock at the family home, 418 Harrison Street, West Lafayette. He was taken ill at work Monday morning.
A native of Holland, he was born July 9, 1868 and had been a resident of Lafayette since a young man. On January 6, 1895 he was married to Mary Cooper. Mr. Rhoda was a member of the Christian Reform church. Besides his widow he leaves two daughters Mrs. Nathan Capps and Mrs. Clifford Carr of this city, a son Erwin Rhoda at home also a brother Jerry Rhoda and two sisters, Mrs. Peter Berkenpas and Mrs. John Strawsma all of this city.
The body was removed to the Soller and Baker funeral home and will be returned to the residence where friends may call after noon Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence and at 2:30 from Christian Reformed church with the Rev. J. M Ghysels officiating. Burial is Grand View cemetery.
