The funeral of Avis Romero, killed in a hammer slaying at Point Cadet Wednesday night, was held yesterday afternoon from the residence of his mother, Mrs. Ophelia Dronet, Cedar Street, with services by Father Herbert Mullin at St. Michael's Church. Pallbearers were Dudley Langlinais, Jake Broussard, Clovis Romero, Lyness Dronet, Fenton Bosarge and Howard Ronsonet.
