MR. GEORGE LOWEN passed
away quietly at his home in
Vauxhall on September 7, 1996
at the age of 70 years.
George was born August 26,
1926 in Marionthal, Russia and
came to Canada in that same
year, settling in Beaver Lodge,
Alberta before moving to
Vauxhall in 1946. He worked for
Mels Malm for many years, then
started farming in 1965 and
continued farming up to the
time of his retirement in 1994.
George lived in Vauxhall until
the time of his passing. George's
pasttimes Included hunting,
fishing and visiting with his family.
He is survived by his brothers
and sisters: Jake (Tina) Lowen,
Sarah Fast, Aggie Friesen, John
(Vera) Lowen, Lena Janzen, Pete
(Mary) Lowen, Anne (Gust)
Skretting, Mary (Jake) Unruh and
Betty (Mike) Giacchella.
He is also survived by
numerous nieces and nephews.
George was predeceased by
his parents, Abram and Gertrude
Lowen, two brothers and three
brothers-in-law.
A Grave Side Service was
held at the Vauxhall Mennonite
Cemetery (4 miles N. and 1 mile
E. of Vauxhall), on Friday.
