Mrs. Myrtle W. Hendrix, 94, Rome Highway, Aragon died Wednesday, April 19 in Rockmart. She was born October 4, 1900 in the Antioch Community. She was a retired school teacher, having taught at Antioch and Aragon schools, a member of Aragon Baptist Church where she was very active in the WMU program and served as Polk County WMU Director for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory S. Hendrix, Sr. and parents, William and Alice Stephens Wright. Surviving are a son, Emory S. Hendrix, Jr. of Atlanta; daughter: Mrs. Alicia Bennett of Rome; brother, Walter Wright of Rockmart; sister, Mrs. Evelyn Barron of Alto; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 21 from the Freeman Harris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sterling Bargeron officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sonny White, Wesley Brumbelow, Dale Brumbelow, Andy Waldrop, David Burkhalter and Stephen Walley. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
