Nationally-noted Public Relations Executive ALFRED FLEISHMAN was a co-founder and CEO of FLEISHMAN-HILLARD, INC., one of the world's largest Public Relations Agencies.
He and partner Robert Hillard founded the firm in St. Louis after a long and (inter)active acquaintaince in the press and political affairs in metro St. Louis. Fleishman-Hillard now enjoys a worldwide presence in Public Relations for corporate, government, industry, brewing, special events and sporting accounts, among many others. The firm maintains offices in several American cities, with headquarters in St. Louis, MO.

Born in St. Louis, Fleishman attended public schools there and received a degree in pharmacy from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. His working knowledge of the press and media was initially generated through his jobs with the metro courts (where he met reporter Robert "Bob" Hillard), and print news story work that he initiated.

A widely-published columnist and author, Fleishman was the longtime personal publicist for Anheuser-Busch President/CEO August A. Busch, Jr. During his long life, Mr. Fleishman was a syndicated columnist for several business and media publications, and a community activist in St. Louis' thriving Jewish community. He was active in numerous civic, community, political and philanthropic affairs. He was an active member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).

After his death, AL was buried next to his wife LUCYLLE (1906-1987, see bio) after a brief private Jewish graveside funeral ceremony at B'Nai Amoona Cemetery in University City, MO. He is widely remembered nationwide as a pioneer in the use of modern American print and broadcast media as well as international public relations. His analysis and critique of civic and political issues were nationally and internationally solicited by political, educational and business leaders.
