After a long battle with cancer, Andrew Slack, beloved husband, father, grandfather, Pastor, and friend left the pain and trials of this life behind to be embraced by the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 4:14 a.m. on March 21, 2004. He was born Sept 6, 1924 in Los Angeles, California. Private First Class Andrew Slack, served his country in World War II and endured six months as a POW in Germany. Andrew married Alice, his beautiful wife of 54 years in 1949. He faithfully proclaimed God's Word for 55 years while Pastoring several churches along the West Coast. He was a resident of Las Vegas for 22 years. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Alice Slack, of Henderson; daughters, Cheryl Gollner of Henderson, Cynthia Vertefeuille of Seattle, Wash., Pamela Flaherty of Dallas; and son, Ronald Slack of Dallas. He leaves 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters in Oregon; and one brother in Florida.
