Stanley Dee "Spunk" Acord, 55, of Oceana, WV passed away on Thursday July 5, 2012 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born August 25, 1956 in Clear Fork, WV, a son of the late James Dee Acord (1918-1986) and Leah "Lurlene" Adkins-Acord (1928-1996). Spunk was a former construction worker and a U.S. Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Aldie Charles Acord (Deceased), Jimmy Dale Acord (1960-1960) and Dallas Steve Acord (Deceased) and his best friend Kenny "Slim" Dyke (Deceased).
Survivors include three sisters Joan Acord of TN, Reva Acord-Walls of Beckley and Janet Calloway & Doug Acord-Calloway of Glen Daniels; eleven brothers James "Danny" Acord (1947-2013) of SC, David "Bud" Acord (1948-2017) & wife Kadie Acord of Crouches Farm, Keith Acord & wife Donna Acord of Lynco, Kenny Acord of Oceana, Mike Acord of Oceana, Ricky Acord & wife Norma Acord of SC, Mark Acord & wife Claudia Acord of Whitesville, Larry Presley & wife Tonya Presley of Mullens, Norman Cline (Deceased) of Lynco, Chris Acord & wife Lora Acord of Mill Creek and Timothy "Timmy" E. Acord (1970-2018) of Oceana; many many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Sunday July 8, 2012 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Pastor Randy Bowels officiating. In keeping with Spunk's wishes he will be cremated.
