William Amos Jones, 86 years of age of Rt. 7, Elberton, died Monday at the Elberton-Elbert County Hospital, following several years of declining health and one week of serious illness.

Mr Jones was born in Easley, SC, a son of the late William Berry and Effie Huey Jones. was a retired farmer and was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Kate McCall Jones of the home. Four daughters, Mrs Doris Bailey and Mrs Velma Harris of Marietta, Mrs Faye Vermilya of Atlanta, and Mrs Jimmie Nell Richardson of Canton, Mass. Four sons, Allen Jones of Franklin Va., Bailey Jones of Carnesville, Jack E Jones of Baton Rouge, La., and Bobby Jones of Decatur. Two sisters, Mrs Joyce Wood and Mrs Willie Mae Swilling of Greenville, SC. One brother Beattle Jones of Greenville, SC. 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Bethlehem United Mechodist Church. The Rev A D Whitemore and the Rev J C Duke will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the residence in the First Consolidated Community.
